How's the view

Before I forget, this is totally unrelated but worth checking out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZeUHLAh_r4  and the accompaniment:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VykEQsw4whM

Now on to the house...
Sorry for the delay in the update but not much has been happening.  Its been snowing, and raining, and cold, and basically slow going.  Here are some update photos:

I told you it snowed.  We got maybe 4 inches that stuck around for a couple of days. Lu loved it of course.

I talked to the rental company that could provide a saw for cutting the windows and determined, through their hesitancy to provide the saw for this application, that having a professional do it would likely save me money (and lots of backache) in the long run.  They used a combination of circular saw and chainsaw and did a very nice job.  This is the window to the media/tv room. Before...

And After...

And from the inside...

Along the South side of the house, working on egress window #1

Egress window #2, south side

Removing the chunk from egress window #1.  Each of these window blocks weighed in excess of 1200 lbs.  Now they are in the backyard, just waiting for the boys to mess up.  I will have my very own chain gang.

Window #2, with the well dug out and shaped

Just have to put in the drainage gravel and build the well walls; we're thinking landscaping block.

Here is the front, before the sawcutting.
Front of the house, during the cutting...

Front of the house; during, from the inside

And, after.

Tavyrn has been having a hard time washing his feet.  I think this will help facilitate healthy habits.

Almost all the interior walls are framed up.  I have a couple of miscellaneous walls yet to put up, but its around 85% or so.  Exterior walls are a different story...

Three pocket doors populate the bathroom.  That's the shower basin (gray) leaning against the back wall. I need to redo the upstairs plumbing before I can put the basin down, but need to sawcut the floor and plumb for the shower prior to that.  There's always something.

Thats it for this go-round.  All new windows are in (or will be as of tonight).  Should make an impact on the exterior walls and plumbing for the shower throughout the week and weekend.  The family is coming up this Friday which is always a treat but not usually that productive.
I have training next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  An exam in two weeks in Eugene. I leave for Azerbaijan for four weeks starting March 26 and may have to return in May. So, I have about 5 weeks to finish before the family moves up.  Anyone interested in seeing Washington...through a basement window?

Seahawks vs. Beavers

The Broncos seem to be taking on the persona of the Beavers as they grasp with the concept of football and all the quirky benefits of completing a pass and holding on to a ball, so it seems a good opportunity to upload a couple of extra photos for the last two weeks.  Not much changed as we are just chugging along slowly.

I did plumb in the washer and dryer, complete with 240V and 120V power to the breaker panel.  Got the supply and waste lines in and most are not leaking. :)

The family came up  for a long weekend  and helped me big time with the cleanup. I had piles upon piles of debris; scrap wood, old wiring, old pipe, garbage, which they very effectively mucked out for me.  Now i have lots of space to make more mess.

Framing is now into Tav's room and the plates are down for the bathroom. I have some plumbing to relocate  and windows to cut into the foundation before I can do much more with the framing.  Hopefully this coming week and weekend will bring forth the time for that.
Bryer is such a fake worker

View from Tav's room, looking at his office (left) and closet (center wall).  The opening on the right will be hall storage with built-in cabinets.

The beauttiful monster, tiling her newly painted pink wall in the kitchen

We like the different yet simple look.

I don't have any picture, but we also cut the counter top and moved the oven back about two inches.  Now we can actually open the dishwasher, WOOHOO!

Also put in a new window, forgot about that...thanks Marcie. Love you.
